The spa industry has gone crazy over the last few years with many retailers jumping on the band wagon. Some of these are very skilled, reputable and experienced. But many are not. Some have stood the test of time. Several have gone bankrupt within a year or two of realizing that it was not such a good way to make a quick buck after all!
Beware of bad advice from inexperienced and greedy salesmen.
If you do not check the chemical balance in your spa DAILY you risk serious illnesses like Legionnaires disease. Anyone who tells you that you can run a spa solely with an ozonator is lying, stupid or both.
Ozone is good at stopping bacteria multiplying when water is inside ozone unit itself. But germs will still multiply inside the spa unless there is something in the spa water to zap them, such as an oxidizing agent like chlorine or bromine, or another chemical like Baquacil or Revacil.
